Introduction
Michael Reiling is a principal and CEO with Fredrikson Healthcare Consulting, Ltd. FHC is a subsidiary of the law firm, Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. He is in his third decade working with physician practices, clinics and health care systems. Prior to working as a consultant, Michael served as the internal reviewer and educator for a large multi-specialty group. Prior to joining Fredrikson in 1999, Michael directed the national coding/compliance unit for Towers Perrin.
His work with all types of specialties focuses on improvement in the areas of coding, reimbursement, documentation, and compliance issues. Michael has been successful in working with clients in challenging government audits. He has the unique ability to alternate from advocate for the group to an educator helping the client understand the importance of compliance. A typical engagement might be to help the client to assess internal expertise and assist in the development and mentoring of in-house staff to carry out effective and efficient programs as they relate to coding and compliance.
